No-Bake Holy Hazelnut Brownie Balls

Posted by Kim Keates on

Rich, fudgy, chocolatey and ridiculously easy to make.

These no-bake brownie balls are the ultimate chocolate fix. Made with soft Medjool dates, cacao, almond butter and a scoop of Holy Hazelnut Protein Powder, they have a rich brownie-like centre wrapped in a crisp layer of dark chocolate.

The best part? There’s no baking required. Simply blend, roll, dip and chill.

With the chocolate-hazelnut flavour of Holy Hazelnut running through every bite, these little treats taste much more like an indulgent chocolate truffle than your typical protein ball.

Ingredients

  • 16 Medjool dates, pitted (approx. 340g)
  • 3 tbsp oat flour (20g)
  • 3 tbsp cacao powder (20g)
  • 1 scoop (approx. 30g) Health Lab Holy Hazelnut Protein Powder
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup (60g)
  • 2 tbsp almond butter (30g)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 170g dark chocolate, roughly chopped

Method

1. Make the brownie mixture
Add the Medjool dates, oat flour, cacao powder, Holy Hazelnut Protein Powder, maple syrup, almond butter and salt to a food processor.

2. Blend
Process until the mixture becomes sticky, mostly smooth and starts clumping together. You may need to stop occasionally and scrape down the sides of the food processor.

3. Roll into balls
Divide the mixture into approximately 14 portions and roll each into a ball. If the mixture is sticking to your hands, lightly wet them before rolling.

4. Chill
Place the brownie balls onto a lined tray and freeze for approximately 30 minutes. This will firm them up and make them much easier to coat.

5. Melt the chocolate
Place the dark chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until completely melted and smooth.

6. Dip & coat
Remove the brownie balls from the freezer. Using a fork, dip each ball into the melted chocolate until coated, allowing any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.

Return them to the lined tray.

7. Set & enjoy
Place the brownie balls in the fridge until the chocolate shell has set. Then all that's left to do is break one open and enjoy that fudgy chocolate-hazelnut centre.

Make them even more indulgent

Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle the tops with finely chopped roasted hazelnuts for extra crunch and an even stronger chocolate-hazelnut moment.

The secret ingredient: Holy Hazelnut

Health Lab Holy Hazelnut Protein Powder brings a smooth, chocolate-hazelnut flavour to the brownie mixture, making these an easy way to turn your protein powder into something a little more indulgent than your usual shake.

Perfect for meal prep, an afternoon sweet treat or whenever the chocolate craving hits.
